Helping Special-Needs Families Find Direction
The COMPASS Family Center helps families cope with the challenges of having a child with a disability. We offer community referrals, support and
guidance to help families navigate the special needs service system. Our services are provided by licensed Marriage
and Family Therapists and registered Marriage and Family Therapy interns
under supervision.

The services provided by COMPASS are offered to family members to complement services that children and adults already receive through community programs and private practitioners. We also assist in providing training opportunities to parents and professionals.
Compass Services
Since 2005 COMPASS has provided an integrated continuum of services for families, all under one roof. COMPASS Services include:
COMPASS also partners with local community resources by collaborating with and referring our families to more than 30 organizations in San Diego County. COMPASS offers services in central San Diego.
Eligibility
COMPASS Family Center works with families caring for children and adults with a wide range of special needs and with all income levels. We define special needs broadly to include developmental and physical disabilities, chronic illnesses, learning differences and mental health needs. This includes diagnoses like autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, bipolar disorder and ADHD. There are no specific eligibility requirements.Cost
COMPASS offers services on a sliding fee scale based on income. Our staff will work with you to determine the cost for services. Initial consultations are provided for a flat-fee of $40.training & Internship

COMPASS services provide:
- Family guidance and assessment to help families identify next steps in obtaining appropriate services for them and their children.
- Couples, family and individual counseling services for parents, caregivers, siblings and/or the child with special needs.
- An expertise with working with children, adolescents and adults with high-functioning autism and Asperger's syndrome.
